The project´s focus on multifunctionality of forest ecosystems is only possible by merging a critical mass of internationally recognized scientists with complementary skills and research foci. The FunDivEUROPE consortium is therefore a true interdisciplinary one, composed of scientists with different, but highly complementing expertise. All participating institutions have successfully been involved in several European and other multi-national research projects, and many have experience in management of European Framework Programmes, COST Actions, or projects of the European Science Foundation (ESF), e.g. as coordinators or workpackage leaders. The consortium will be complemented by a number of associated partners that provide access to certain research facilities, thus improving the overall coverage of the project in terms of infrastructure.
